#15

#15 - Children Of Men (2006) I am a big sci-fi fan and Children of Men is how to do the genre the right way. Have a great director in Alfonso CuarĂ³n and add in some great talent, including a personal favorite of mine in Clive Owen. Children of Men tells the story of what life would be like if the human race could no longer procreate. How would you act if you knew the entire species would one day die off because no new children would keep the legacy of life going? It is a very interesting subject matter that is handled with great precision in this film. The movie is greatly detailed making sure not to leave anything out of this world of 2027. The visuals of the movie are simply amazing, two scenes in particular are some of the best of the decade! You have a scene that just never seems to cut and the action is non-stop, with bullets flying and people running. It really has to be seen to do it justice. Children Of Men was given praise upon release, garnering 3 Oscar nominations for Best Achievement in Cinematography, Best Achievement in Editing, and Adapted Screenplay. It was shame that the movie was not a winner, especially on the editing award because it has some of the best editing in any movie of the last few years.
